Brian A. Butler, Colonel (ret.)

Brian Butler Brian Butler is Founder and President of Vistra Communications, a full spectrum Strategic Public Relations and Management Consulting Firm providing strategic communications counsel and management consulting services to business, government and non-profit organizations.

Mr. Butler has over 25 years of National Security and Homeland Security related experiences and brings proven leadership, vision and strategic insights focused on empowering leaders and their organizations.

Prior to founding Vistra, he provided Strategic Communications Counsel to senior leaders at the U.S. Central Command, and previously served on the Homeland Security Council (HSC) in the White House where he developed policy and preparedness plans for a potential pandemic influenza.

Mr. Butler is an experienced public relations professional having worked in the Washington, DC office of Fleishman-Hillard International Communications and having served as spokesperson and Chief of Communications for an Army Secretary.

A former Army Chemical Defense Officer, he provides unique insights and expertise in CBRNE related areas. Brian commanded a tactical chemical unit, served as director of technical training, and worked with local, state and federal government agencies developing and implementing preparedness plans, contingency operations and exercises. Brian served in the Joint Staff directorate of Homeland Defense as the Chief of CBRNE plans and operations and commanded a large federal government installation and ammunition production facility.

Mr. Butler holds a M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National War College, a M.S. in Administration from Central Michigan University and a B.S. in Marketing from Hampton University.
